Mental health

We have launched a new health checker on our website, designed to help anybody over the age of 16 looking for mental health advice either for themselves or a friend or relative.

The checker focuses on depression, stress and anxiety, with specific advice for anybody experiencing suicidal thoughts. It can be used anonymously, and consists of a series of questions about mental health. It suggests the best course of action to take based on the user’s answers: that may be self care, a call to NHS Direct, a visit to the GP, or in the most critical cases, a call to the emergency services.

Around one in four people will be affected by mental health issues like anxiety, stress and depression at some point in their life. We’re here to help.
