NHS Direct has been working with Channel 4 on a new live health show from the team behind the series ‘Embarrassing Bodies’.
‘Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the Clinic’ enables viewers with medical concerns to seek advice and be ‘seen' by the doctors from the comfort of their own homes during the prime time show.
The six part series, which started on Wednesday, 25 May 2011, uses video calling to offer on-the-spot consultations, advice and even diagnosis during live broadcasts.
There is an Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the clinic website to go alongside the show which features lots of extra information, as well as the NHS Direct online health and symptom checkers, which are embedded in the site. The show’s doctors have also created six interactive video versions of our health and symptom checkers to be used off air.
Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the Clinic, is currently broadcast on Wednesdays from 8.00-9.00pm on Channel 4. Previous episodes can be watched online on 4oD.
NHS Direct is making its online health and symptom checkers freely available to public, private or charity sector organisations in England to use on their own websites. The checkers can appear in their entirety within other organisations’ websites, and can be fully customised to match host websites.
For more information about putting NHS Direct’s online health and symptom checkers on your organisation’s website, visit NHS Direct Partnerships or contact Owain Davies, Head of Partnerships, on 0207 599 4227.
