During February and March 2009, NHS Direct is running a national campaign to promote our telephone service to 16 - 24 year olds and people over 65.
We’ve chosen these two target audiences because their awareness and usage of the service is slightly lower than other age groups.
Activity aimed at the 16 - 24 year olds will include distribution of promotional postcards in cinemas, student unions, health clubs and bars. Posters will also be on display in health clubs and in washrooms in bars and clubs.
To reach people over the age of 65, we will be distributing promotional bookmarks through public libraries, and advertising in magazines aimed at this age group.
We will also provide community pharmacies with bags printed with information about NHS Direct, and display posters in specific bingo halls.
