Following the launch of the National Pandemic Flu Service, NHS Direct continues to provide expert health information and advice to the people of England, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
What is the National Pandemic Flu Service?
This means we will be handling calls from people with urgent health problems that are not swine flu related.
We will, however, be taking calls from people who have been advised by the National Pandemic Flu Service to call NHS Direct for further assessment.
We will no longer be handling the initial calls from people with flu-like symptoms. If you think you have swine flu, you should contact the National Pandemic Flu Service online or call 0800 1 513 100.
NHS Direct cannot issue anti-viral drugs such as Tamiflu. If you need treatment, you should contact the National Pandemic Flu Service online or call 0800 1 513 100.
If you require information about swine flu, you can also contact the National Pandemic Flu Service by visiting the National Pandemic Flu Service website or calling 0800 1 513 513.
